The Portfolio Application Engineer is responsible for the evolution and management of the tooling capability across Paddy Power Betfair Technology. The position will work with key stakeholders to enable the effective and efficient management of work across Technology and the production of reports to provide essential information and insights used by senior management, the commercial teams and delivery management in decision making. The position reports to the Portfolio Reporting Manager as part of the Technology Strategy and Optimisation team and will work across all departments to ensure that we have an effective and relevant tooling and reporting capability. The role will require travel to our offices across Europe.

Accountabilities:

  • Operational management of key applications for managing the business capability ensuring high levels of service
  • Managing the day to day relationships with key 3rd party suppliers
  • Managing a community of practice across Paddy Power Betfair Technology to better understand business need and opportunities to improve the tooling
  • Supporting Optimisation coaches in gathering and implementing recommended improvements to tooling
  • Assist in the planning and development of key packages of work, continuous improvement, processes, KPIs and reporting that are being managed by the Technology Strategy and Optimisation team
  • Look to utilise new and existing technologies to integrate and innovate the tools used for managing and measuring work going forward
  • Making sure system design and processes align with architectural strategy
  • Provide training and advice to consumers of the tools ensuring appropriate documentation is available and relevant for a great user experience

  • Experience of coding in various web technologies with understanding of the full technology stack is preferred
  • Knowledge of APIs and Application Integration is preferred
